A friend became a Christian in her early 20’s. She said one of the biggest things that changed for her was realizing there were seasons. Before knowing how Christ could intervene in her everyday life, she felt as though whatever she was feeling, or the situation she was in would potentially last forever, and she was powerless to change anything.
Have you ever felt like that? Felt like your life circumstances may never change? It is easy to forget that with Christ, things can, will and always do change. God can change mindsets, circumstances, emotions, and above all else, He promises to be with us from one season to the next.
In Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, King Solomon states:
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot.
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.”
What season do you find yourself in?
Is there a particular invitation this season?
How can you draw yourself into more awareness of God’s presence?
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19.
